Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Eyague having to interfere. Vicente Eyague made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. Leonel Iratzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Vicente Eyague took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Vicente Eyague made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Jorge Cachorro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathan de Haan in the 21st minute. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tigre's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to fire away a dangerous shot which Vicente Eyague despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Ecuador's Luis Andino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Cachorro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 34th match minute, Tigre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Belarmo to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vicente Eyague, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Karel Van Engelen came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Tigre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karel Van Engelen couldn't finish the play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jorge Cachorro made the kick off in the second half. Vicente Eyague made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Vicente Eyague made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 58th minute. Tigre's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Vicente Eyague, making the score, 0-3. Vicente Eyague made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Eyague was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 62 minute of play. After 65 played minutes Tigre got a freekick which was hit by Julio Gaxan. Tigre's Benedicto Aztore was substituted for Nico Otamendi. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tigre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Gaxan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Tigre's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Angel Oliviero hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita took a good shot, in the 71st minute, which hit the crossbar above Vicente Eyague's head, and flew over the goal. Tigre's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Ecuador. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Eyague having to make a save. After 77 played minutes Tigre got a freekick which was hit by Veto Cena. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Vicente Eyague didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Jorge Cachorro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tigre's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Cachorro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 86 minutes into the match, Tigre's goalkeeper Vicente Eyague had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Vicente Eyague was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 86 minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Tigre's goalkeeper Vicente Eyague had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Geofredo in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tigre throughout the match.
