Brent-Jan Van Lancker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Brent-Jan Van Lancker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 27th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Adolphe Roggen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 42nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Patricio Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 51st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Tomas Illescas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Brent-Jan Van Lancker 54 minutes into the match. Frits Van Hespe hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 70th match minute, Sleepy Soldiers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustijn Van Boxstael to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Brent-Jan Van Lancker. The goal made the score 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Sleepy Soldiers FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brent-Jan Van Lancker came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Brent-Jan Van Lancker managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 88 minutes into the game, Frits Van Hespe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sleepy Soldiers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick.
