In the 10th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedicto Ireno was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Benedicto Ireno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 18th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Benedicto Ireno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Ireno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Benedicto Ireno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th of the match, Márk Stephen tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Thiago Pliego got in the way and made a wonderful save. The supporters of Chile booed when C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Innocenzio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedicto Ireno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 44th minute of play. Márk Stephen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedicto Ireno having to make a save. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Ireno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Benedicto Ireno made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedicto Ireno was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Fernando Seber was substituted for Pablo Innocenzio. In the 75th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. Chile's Francisco Carballar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benedicto Ireno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Benedicto Ireno didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 75th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Benedicto Ireno made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Benedicto Ireno in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Fernando Seber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedicto Ireno made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Teodosio Montes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
