In the 5th minute, Andy Entrena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Fulgencio Villalcazar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fulgencio Villalcazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alonso Berganza during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peru's Alonso Berganza got a free kick in the 20th minute. David Batuhin scored 1-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Batuhin in the 24th minute of play. After 25 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sid Wilson who took care of the corner kick. In the 28thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuatrodeocho's Fulgencio Villalcazar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Eliseo Mina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fulgencio Villalcazar. Eliseo Mina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Batuhin, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 46 minutes in the game Sid Wilson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Belarmino Campos. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuatrodeocho's Fulgencio Villalcazar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulgencio Villalcazar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Batuhin in the 55th minute of play. Alonso Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Villalcazar having to interfere. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cuatrodeocho's goalkeeper Fulgencio Villalcazar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute of play forced Cuatrodeocho's goalkeeper Fulgencio Villalcazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fulgencio Villalcazar. Fulgencio Villalcazar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Fulgencio Villalcazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 70th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horea Băieșu got free with Rolando Noboa in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cuatrodeocho's José Planes was substituted for Sid Wilson. Cuatrodeocho's attentive Belarmino Campos managed to snatch the ball when Eliseo Mina made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Cuatrodeocho's David Batuhin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. That made the score 3-3 after 76 minutes of play. In the 83rd minute of the match Peru got a corner. Cuatrodeocho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 86 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fulgencio Villalcazar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fulgencio Villalcazar came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Rafael Gallo. But to his dismay, Rafael Gallo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3.
