Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Chirculescu in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, Costel Neagoe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paralia Athens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. Costel Neagoe hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. If Leonard Chirculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonard Chirculescu. After 14 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teodor Romeo who took care of the corner kick. After 14 played minutes Paralia Athens got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Robu. Thanks to some nice moves Leonard Chirculescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Jacobo Nores however easily saved by the left post. Teodor Romeo charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodor Romeo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Paralia Athens getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Teodor Romeo hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Paralia Athens's Leonard Chirculescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Paraguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teodor Romeo was slow to take the kick. During this time Paralia Athens's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Paraguay's goalie and right to Mircea Robu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Paraguay's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 25th minute, Teodor Romeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Leonard Chirculescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jacobo Nores to make any attempt to save it. Leonard Chirculescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Chirculescu in the 33rd minute of the match. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Chirculescu in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Mircea Robu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costel Neagoe was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Virgil Olariu came out and tried to block the shot, but Hector Covarrubias slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 54th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Paralia Athens's Unai Herrera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 67th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Romeo to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Virgil Olariu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Juan Diego Tenorio hit a great ball. In the 72nd match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Robu to maneuver through the defense. Vasile Enciulescu hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgil Olariu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 80 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mircea Robu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Despite being the better team, Paraguay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
