After 47 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Helmut Kunze was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmut Kunze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. MANCHESTER UNITED's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. 93 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of MANCHESTER UNITED's Helmut Kunze. Helmut Kunze was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
