In the 4thth minute of the game Willie Colon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Lions FC's Anders Lundqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chuan Cintron acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Arne Tönnberg. Chuan Cintron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Durazno in the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Golden Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jarkko Tuovinen came free, but Anders Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match Golden Lions FC got a corner. Atlético Municipal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Loco Durazno might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chuan Cintron. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Loco Durazno ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Chuan Cintron successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Willie Colon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anders Lundqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Chuan Cintron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loco Durazno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mats Nyström got free with Chuan Cintron in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Golden Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Tönnberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Willie Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anders Lundqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Municipal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Chuan Cintron, was totally fooled by Golden Lions FC's Loco Durazno, who 34 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Loco Durazno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chuan Cintron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Durazno in the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Mats Nyström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuan Cintron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Azubeli Roman charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loco Durazno in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chuan Cintron prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loco Durazno to make the kick off. Oscar De León took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anders Lundqvist. Anders Lundqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 61st minute of the match, Andoni Viguri tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Anders Lundqvist saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 63 minutes into the match, Golden Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claude Sena came free, but Anders Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético Municipal's 方亮朗 was substituted for Claude Sena. Atlético Municipal made a substitution. Silvanito Gainza replaced Azubeli Roman. Atlético Municipal were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Golden Lions FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oscar De León took the corner. Chuan Cintron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebben Johansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Golden Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when 方亮朗 came free, but Anders Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
