Miroslaw Zgonina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Miroslaw Zgonina didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 16th minute, Camilo Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ksawery Iwanowski kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Miroslaw Zgonina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 18th minute of play. If Janusz Swoboda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay reached it. Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
