The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of 白洋远 when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 武天烨 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. 白洋远 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute 武天烨 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 白洋远 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by 武天烨 in the 90th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, 孟宇克 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 孟宇克 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
