Patricio Salamon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Soflov FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The corner ended in Jonathan Venegas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Soflov FC's Patricio Salamon did a great save. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Percy Romero scored 1-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Soflov FC's goalie and right to Patricio Costa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Soflov FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Percy Romero came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Soflov FC fans jumped to their feet. After a defensive mix-up in Soflov FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Salamon came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th match minute, Soflov FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Mikelats to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Salvador Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
