Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Dominix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomás Pepillo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Tomas Berganza sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Deportivo de Coba's Tomás Pepillo. Tomás Pepillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Dominix in the 33rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Pepillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Giro during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Deportivo de Coba's Norberto Giro got a free kick in the 41st minute. The supporters of Panama booed when Deportivo de Coba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Giro didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Tomás Pepillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Jose Carita hit a great ball. If Florentino Dominix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florentino Dominix could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Deportivo de Coba's Americo Guillen got a free kick in the 79th minute. Isidoro Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Tomás Pepillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abraham Alguacil during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Alguacil to maneuver through the defense. Panama's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
