An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 25th minute of play forced Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Amancio Videl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Edgardo Arce sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Berni y Benja FC's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Videl came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgardo Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 63 minutes in the game Kärim Benzine did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Roman Hibai. Olle Carlsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Olle Carlsson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berni y Benja FC made a substitution. Mauro Boni replaced Edgardo Arce. Berni y Benja FC's Norberto Fero was substituted for Ramiro Sanson. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 78th minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kärim Benzine, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Olle Carlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Amancio Videl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico.
