Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Uruguay booed when CERPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Herauso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Uruguay's Camilo Franco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Javier Espina struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Bernabe Arano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Javier Espina took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernabe Arano. Bernabe Arano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7.
