The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lv Yuan Kuan scored 0-1 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 12th minute of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lv Yuan Kuan in the 14th minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lv Yuan Kuan's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Lv Yuan Kuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pepsi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lv Yuan Kuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Joshua Sammut Castelletti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joshua Sammut Castelletti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the match, Lv Yuan Kuan notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Pepsi were winning 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Sammut Castelletti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lv Yuan Kuan. After 59 minutes of play, FC Pepsi's Joshua Sammut Castelletti made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Joshua Sammut Castelletti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-7. Axel Tasis's late challenge caught a FC Pepsi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Axel Tasis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Pepsi made a substitution. Kanu Kanu replaced Lv Yuan Kuan. Kanu Kanu in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 70 minutes into the match, Kurt Lundin notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute, Kanu Kanu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-9. In the 82nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 87 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ludvig Ahlroht who took care of the corner kick. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Pepsi's Kurt Lundin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-11 after 94 minutes of play. When the final whistle sounded FC Pepsi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
