Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Attilio Pani to make the kick off. 55 minutes in the game, Luis Andino fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Válter Tasso having to interfere. In the 57th minute Attilio Pani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfonso Aquilino was slow to take the kick. During this time forsal FC's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Attilio Pani advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 58th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Aquilino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute of the match forsal FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfonso Aquilino ran over to the corner to take the kick. forsal FC's Válter Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save forsal FC from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Pani in the 67th minute of play. When forsal FC's Alfonso Aquilino in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
