Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Pannekoeken's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Elbert Haar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Weather came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. The Pannekoeken players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
