Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vedat Arslanoğlu in the 13th minute of play. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sten Mellin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Jofurs Drängar's Phan Dung getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Vedat Arslanoğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vedat Arslanoğlu ran back to his position shaking his head. Gilbert Björklund charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilbert Björklund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Jofurs Drängar's Gilbert Björklund got a free kick in the 95th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Patricio Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ola Berg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jofurs Drängar's Alfons Helström got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Jofurs Drängar could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
