Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alfonso Giovannelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Giovannelli. A collision led to LATIUM getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cristoforo Caiola hit a great ball. The supporters of LATIUM booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Buffone in the 27th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Amerigo Buffone got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 2-0. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto De Bonis having to interfere. Amerigo Buffone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Giovannelli came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Giovannelli's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After 61 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Amerigo Buffone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amerigo Buffone, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Alfonso Giovannelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Giovannelli went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 85 minutes of play, LATIUM's Aurelio Oriali made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! LATIUM's Attilio De Tommasi was substituted for Armin Palmisano. In the 90th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
