When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Constantino Johans took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Lautaro Navarro to make any attempt to save it. 22 minutes into the match, Adan Paio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adan Paio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Espiga to maneuver through the defense. Ariel Qwinton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Espiga went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Ariel Qwinton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Tafalla went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Constantino Johans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Megistus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Dahlberg to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ariel Qwinton was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 56th minute Constantino Johans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Constantino Johans came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, one of Honduras:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Qwinton saved Megistus from getting behind. John Dahlberg hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Otsoa in the 82nd minute of play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantino Johans in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Edmundo Espiga hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ariel Qwinton was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
