Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. VILLARREAL UNITED were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Panama's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Florian Pruss took the corner. Valentin Voicu might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Voicu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Carita to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the game Jose Carita made a throw-in which Tomas Berganza played forward. The Panama players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. VILLARREAL UNITED were winning 0-5.

When the match was over VILLARREAL UNITED could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Panama throughout the match.
