Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yavuz Selimhan Gulson having to interfere. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC KALELİ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patric Bierhoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yavuz Selimhan Gulson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Patric Bierhoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Patric Bierhoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yavuz Selimhan Gulson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patric Bierhoff in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patric Bierhoff in the 39th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Patric Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Yavuz Selimhan Gulson made a huge save. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nazil Sağlamtürk in the 67th minute of play.
