The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Thomas Ravelli made a huge save. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Nordkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasas short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Thomas Ravelli to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 37 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Thomas Ravelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Ravelli having to interfere. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 苏磊乐 in the 43rd minute of play. Orlando Casaus came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thomas Ravelli could save by the left post. 47 minutes into the match, Motståndarlaget's goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 苏磊乐 was the one to do the kick off. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 54th minute of play. 苏磊乐 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Motståndarlaget's Thomas Ravelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 58th minute of play. After 61 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Fontirroig. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Motståndarlaget's goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Thomas Ravelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. 72 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Jano Maciel came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Fero Sabon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 77th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when 苏磊乐 sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 苏磊乐 in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Lennart Browall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Motståndarlaget walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
