Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st minute, Miguel Van Mechelen made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After 54 played minutes YR Mechelen got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Van Mechelen. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Joery Van Mechelen in the 60 minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Van Mechelen made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Luca Espinar got a free kick in the 68th minute. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stanny Van Wontergem was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Stanny Van Wontergem successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. YR Mechelen's Adolphe De Maerschalckx managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Christian Sancho in the 79 minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stanny Van Wontergem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Leo Van Mechelen got a free kick in the 81st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Villa in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stanny Van Wontergem prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 90 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. YR Mechelen's Stanny Van Wontergem tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Andries Mangelschot came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The YR Mechelen players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
