An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Corrêa in the 18th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by GUARANI E.C.'s Felipe Santos. But to his dismay, Felipe Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 21st minute, Hector Covarrubias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 22 played minutes GUARANI E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Álvares. 24 minutes into the match, Álvaro Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When GUARANI E.C.'s Felipe Santos in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Vicente Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alan Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Felipe Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. GUARANI E.C. made a substitution. Bernardinho Pires replaced Felipe Santos. The supporters of GUARANI E.C. booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Zoido didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Paraguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of GUARANI E.C.:s goal. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for GUARANI E.C.. Álvaro Corrêa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jacobo Nores. 0-6. A collision led to GUARANI E.C. getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Vito Bastos hit a great ball. Paraguay's Raul Venegas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Anderson Seco, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Álvaro Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Primitivo Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Bernardinho Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. GUARANI E.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eusébio Álvares in the 89th minute. Álvaro Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GUARANI E.C.. The audience thought a goal was coming when Álvaro Corrêa got free with Jacobo Nores in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The GUARANI E.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
