Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernest Spoelbergs's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Travassos in the 23rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernest Spoelbergs in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bucaneiros's Ernest Spoelbergs in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mai Hontoria's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute Mai Hontoria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bucaneiros getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. 강 비 hit a great ball. After the first half Bucaneiros were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Bucaneiros's Eusébio Bastos got a free kick in the 51st minute. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bucaneiros's Ernest Spoelbergs. But to his dismay, Ernest Spoelbergs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bucaneiros made a substitution. Mario Kempes replaced Mai Hontoria. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Bartosz Skikiewicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Bucaneiros's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartosz Skikiewicz came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Travassos in the 90th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Kempes's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 93rd match minute, Bucaneiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Kempes to maneuver through the defense. Bartosz Skikiewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 94th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Bucaneiros's Mario Kempes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 0-3 after 95 minutes of play. Bucaneiros's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
