Maximino Cesario made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 24th minute. Maximino Cesario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, Bill Hofnagels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Lieckens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Georg Gustavsson notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 43 minutes, Sam Hartlang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La masia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sam Hartlang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Gustavsson in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Wes Lieckens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of La masia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Maximino Cesario went to the wrong direction when Tomas Illescas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Bill Hofnagels hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximino Cesario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Maximino Cesario came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Georg Gustavsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Maximino Cesario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, La masia's Kent Stuckens got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Cesario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after La masia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The supporters of Venezuela booed when La masia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Hartlang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kent Stuckens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 89th match minute, La masia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kent Stuckens to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Georg Gustavsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. La masia's supporters rose to their feet, but Georg Gustavsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Georg Gustavsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of La masia booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Georg Gustavsson put it in 1-7 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. When the final whistle sounded La masia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
