Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Baykal Acabey started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. BASEL FC's Nicanor Loiola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 3rd minute of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Loiola having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Adam Dailey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Nicanor Loiola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baykal Acabey. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihail Dumitras, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, BASEL FC's Cazimir Dominte got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 26th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Loiola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 27th minute of play forced BASEL FC's goalkeeper Nicanor Loiola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by BASEL FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Nicanor Loiola in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 67 played minutes Lautaro Mancebo rounded BASEL FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicanor Loiola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baykal Acabey in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicanor Loiola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. Cazimir Dominte made in the 87th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Yaris Kusumadilaga. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than BASEL FC.
