After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Larkins Potter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wara's supporters rose to their feet, but Larkins Potter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the match, Wara's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Elias Urdaspal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Elias Urdaspal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wara's attentive Jean-Baptiste Boulebda managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Urdaspal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Wara's Larkins Potter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cheb El-Hadi was slow to take the kick. During this time Wara's players had a chance to rest. In the 37th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Urdaspal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Larkins Potter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Urdaspal having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Elias Urdaspal in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Wara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zdenek Klíma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Elias Urdaspal firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Larkins Potter in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Faouzi Louahla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larkins Potter in the 83rd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Wara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cheb El-Hadi in the 90th minute. After taking down the ball on Wara's corner Cheb El-Hadi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Larkins Potter in the 93rd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Wara.
