The supporters of Ecuador booed when Deportivo Pergamino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Remigio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play forced Deportivo Pergamino's goalkeeper Roberto Bonano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Jacobo Chepe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cesar Egun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Pergamino made a substitution. Carolo Jerardo replaced Jacobo Chepe. 15 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pergamino's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Roberto Bonano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Deportivo Pergamino were awarded a corner. Albino Jeraldo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Dario Remigio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pergamino's Carolo Jerardo got a free kick in the 19th minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Roberto Bonano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Bonano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Kang Li came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Deportivo Pergamino got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albino Jeraldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Pergamino's Carolo Jerardo. But to his dismay, Carolo Jerardo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Kang Li who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carolo Jerardo in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pergamino's Kang Li got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Antonio Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonio Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Deportivo Pergamino's Albino Jeraldo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carolo Jerardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carolo Jerardo in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Deportivo Pergamino's Roberto Bonano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pergamino from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute Cesar Egun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Bonano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carolo Jerardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Deportivo Pergamino's Albino Jeraldo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Roberto Bonano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Anthony Tiberio hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Nunez Oroitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Roberto Bonano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Carolo Jerardo sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. 85 minutes into the game, Carolo Jerardo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Oroitz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Pergamino fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
