When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Eric Păvăloae put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Păvăloae in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Eric Păvăloae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Păvăloae in the 17th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 41 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rareș Tatulici who took care of the corner kick. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Andrei Cosor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Correa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rareș Tatulici took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The wind increased when Eric Păvăloae made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Păvăloae got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Remus Pinatel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 88 minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Păvăloae came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ninjas in Pyjamas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
