After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Chago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Chago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bonifacio Chucho fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ♚ Bastardos del Rey ♚'s protests and gave Bonifacio Chucho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Bonifacio Chucho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. That was the end of his participation in the match. ♚ Bastardos del Rey ♚'s Eduardo Chago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Chago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo Chago was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Ciriaco Maore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
