In the 15th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olimpiu Oncescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Tomas Berganza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olimpiu Oncescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Olimpiu Oncescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 24th minute of play. Olimpiu Oncescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidoro Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olimpiu Oncescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. After 52 minutes Stoicii's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. In the 53rd minute of the match, Abraham Alguacil sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Olimpiu Oncescu showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Claudiu Popescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Olimpiu Oncescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Stoicii getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Felix Zbora hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes Stoicii got a freekick which was hit by Alexandru Zaki. Olimpiu Oncescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olimpiu Oncescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abraham Alguacil in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olimpiu Oncescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olimpiu Oncescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute.
