Thanks to some nice moves Eleuterio Gaztea could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Thiago Pliego however easily saved by the left post. The corner led Grêmio Prudente's Eleuterio Gaztea to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grêmio Prudente's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
