Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cassius Byrne received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Miroslav Motuz came out and tried to block the shot, but Cassius Byrne slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, FC XY's goalkeeper Miroslav Motuz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. Miroslav Motuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. USA were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after FC XY's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. Orhan Veli Mirac's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orhan Veli Mirac helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, FC XY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orhan Veli Mirac to maneuver through the defense. Miroslav Motuz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cassius Byrne showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 21 minute of play. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Miroslav Motuz in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cassius Byrne in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miroslav Motuz saved FC XY from getting behind. Miroslav Motuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Orhan Veli Mirac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 40 played minutes FC XY got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Ižvolt. 42 minutes into the match, FC XY's Orhan Veli Mirac sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Monty Rogers hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the FC XY defense, Monty Rogers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miroslav Motuz. The FC XY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miroslav Motuz should have stopped the shot. After having played for 64 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Monty Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. FC XY's Daniel Pavlovič was substituted for Orhan Veli Mirac. FC XY's Miroslav Motuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Campbell in the 84th minute of play. In the 85thth minute of the game Sam Campbell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC XY's Miroslav Motuz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miroslav Motuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Campbell in the 89th minute of play. When USA's Sam Campbell in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC XY's goalie prevented a goal. Gabriel Ižvolt hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Gabriel Ižvolt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC XY's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Ižvolt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
