Legion of Boom's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdi Ufki having to interfere. Abdi Ufki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. If Chiquinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdi Ufki made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abdi Ufki. Abdi Ufki yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. After a rather tough play, Legion of Boom's Rony Teixeira got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute really tested Abdi Ufki's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Vargas in the 85th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Legion of Boom was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chiquinho Vargas hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Legion of Boom fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
