Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Iacob Drăgoescu took the kick off in the first half of the match. Iacob Drăgoescu scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th match minute, Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Zorlescu to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Old Boys's goalkeeper Aurelian Hidiș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelian Hidiș having to make a save. In the 28th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. After 33 minutes of play, Old Boys's Pär Rolfsson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Sever Podgoreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42ndth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Old Boys's Aurelian Hidiș was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Flavius Nebunu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Old Boys were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iacob Drăgoescu in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Old Boys's Panait Groza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pär Rolfsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Old Boys's players had a chance to rest. Flavius Nebunu made a great header on Old Boys's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelian Hidiș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iacob Drăgoescu in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of play forced Old Boys's goalkeeper Aurelian Hidiș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The excitement rose when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas after 67 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Old Boys's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-2. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panait Groza in the 74th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurelian Hidiș. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. When Iacob Drăgoescu fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Old Boys's protests and gave Iacob Drăgoescu a yellow card for diving instead. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Sever Podgoreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle went the supporters of Old Boys were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Venezuela side.
