Cornel Vulpe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ruben Salvator kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ruben Salvator kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play forced A. Korn's goalkeeper Ubaldo Matildo Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by A. Korn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Ubaldo Matildo Fillol despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Salvator came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of A. Korn's Ubaldo Matildo Fillol. Ubaldo Matildo Fillol was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, A. Korn's Ubaldo Matildo Fillol got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Matildo Fillol having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Ruben Salvator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubaldo Matildo Fillol made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ubaldo Matildo Fillol. That made the score 3-2 after 64 minutes of play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Diaz in the 74th minute of play. In the 79th minute Cornel Vulpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by A. Korn's Ramon Diaz. But to his dismay, Ramon Diaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Ubaldo Matildo Fillol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Salvator, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ramon Diaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Diaz in the 93rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
