Underdogs's Brak Gola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Underdogs from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Brak Gola in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Monty Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brak Gola having to interfere. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apostolis Arvanitoyannis in the 36th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Underdogs's Walery Marud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrzej Budzyn to strike the kick off in the second half. If Apostolis Arvanitoyannis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Underdogs defense, Cassius Byrne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brak Gola. The Underdogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brak Gola should have stopped the shot. 66 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Borys Okopny. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 69th minute of the match. Brak Gola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 71st minute of play. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Apostolis Arvanitoyannis's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute.
