After 8 minutes of play, Joga Bonito's Alejo Eleazar made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Artur Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Boruc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joga Bonito's Artur Boruc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Joga Bonito's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Artur Boruc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play forced Joga Bonito's goalkeeper Artur Boruc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Boruc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luo Wei Xi couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Symons in the 78th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luo Wei Xi in the 80th minute of the match. In the 85th minute of the match Joga Bonito got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alejo Eleazar ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Andy Symons got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabian Hoffmann hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Artur Boruc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Artur Boruc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Joga Bonito.
