To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardino Aguilo came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Abelardo Macías made a huge save. The supporters of Mexico booed when Plaza Babys CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pietro Echavarri didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 88th minute of play forced Plaza Babys CF's goalkeeper Abelardo Macías to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Plaza Babys CF's Aļģis Engers got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Plaza Babys CF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
