After a rather tough play, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Marcin Wasilewski got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Pontes in the 25th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Facundo Cadaval got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 32 minutes of play, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Erubiel Justin made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Meelis Vananurm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erubiel Justin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Marcelo Abreu. But to his dismay, Marcelo Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erubiel Justin to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Meelis Vananurm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Meelis Vananurm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Meelis Vananurm. Meelis Vananurm was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Meelis Vananurm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 82nd minute of the match. ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Meelis Vananurm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 83rd minute of play. Meelis Vananurm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 84th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maicon Pontes got free with Dante Lacasa in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Meelis Vananurm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
