The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Meelis Vananurm in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Meelis Vananurm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 minutes ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Chile's Xavier Figueroa to fire away a dangerous shot which Meelis Vananurm despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Slawomir Tyskie kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Chile's Orlando Casaus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Meelis Vananurm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Erubiel Justin came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Justin couldn't finish the play. Marcin Wasilewski lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card.
