Georg Nyström came out of the goal and Jonathan Alphonse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gesner Philippe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Georg Nyström made a huge save. Felix Malmgren hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The supporters of Fortuna Galaxy booed when Haiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saint Jean Pierre didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Marko Hermansson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Haiti's Noel Seide didn't even have to move. Georg Nyström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Alphonse in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel got a free kick in the 29th minute. Georg Nyström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philippe Ambroise in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Alphonse got free with Georg Nyström in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Alphonse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Georg Nyström made a huge save. 36 minutes into the game, Marko Hermansson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortuna Galaxy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haiti the free kick. A collision led to Fortuna Galaxy getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. If Philippe Ambroise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Fortuna Galaxy's goalkeeper Georg Nyström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Alphonse.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Alphonse was the one to do the kick off. When Jan-Olof Sillén fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fortuna Galaxy's protests and gave Jan-Olof Sillén a yellow card for diving instead. Jan-Olof Sillén hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Saint Jean Pierre's late challenge caught a Fortuna Galaxy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saint Jean Pierre helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute Jonathan Alphonse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Nyström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Sundström made in the 63rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marko Hermansson. Haiti's Ernso Constant got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Alphonse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute Jonathan Alphonse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Nyström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Ernso Constant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 minutes, Ernso Constant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haiti and the Fortuna Galaxy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th minute, Ernso Constant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Seide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Västlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Philippe Ambroise managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haiti's supporters rose to their feet, but Philippe Ambroise was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georg Nyström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes Fortuna Galaxy got a freekick which was hit by Marko Hermansson. In the 93rdth minute of the game Jonathan Alphonse who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortuna Galaxy's Georg Nyström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
