Ke Chang Xuan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdurrahman Bardakçı in the 20th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ke Chang Xuan in the 34th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After having played for 65 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eyüp Kani hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes Gürsercağ SK got a freekick which was hit by Eyüp Kani. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
