Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Engenheiros da Vila getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Sture Vik hit a great ball. Sture Vik's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sture Vik helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 8 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Engenheiros da Vila's Eriberto Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Eriberto Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Engenheiros da Vila got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Castro. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Mineiro in the 34th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 39th match minute, Engenheiros da Vila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Castro to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eusébio Castro, made in the 41st minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geraldo Fernandez to make the kick off. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Mineiro in the 51st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Fernandez in the 55th minute of play. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
