Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Maxim Sfetcu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Maxim Sfetcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute, Maxim Sfetcu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BVB 09 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
