After 10 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimitar Vetzov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after FC Bansko's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Dimitar Vetzov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dimitar Vetzov having to make a save. In the 28th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitar Vetzov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dimitar Vetzov was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Bansko's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Dimitar Vetzov. FC Bansko's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

FC Bansko's Dimitar Vetzov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Bansko from getting a goal against them. The supporters of FC Bansko booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Venko Petrov in the 61st minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, FC Bansko's goalkeeper Dimitar Vetzov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. If Ivan Toromanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Bansko made a substitution. Stiliyan Tachkov replaced Ivan Toromanov. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Dimitar Vetzov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Camilo Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Venko Petrov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Venko Petrov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The FC Bansko fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
