The corner led RIBEIRÃO FC's Lukáš Modrić to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Angelo Ongile was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. After 19 minutes RIBEIRÃO FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukáš Modrić in the 27th minute of play. After 28 played minutes RIBEIRÃO FC got a freekick which was hit by Lukáš Modrić. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Peio in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Lukáš Modrić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lukáš Modrić was slow to take the kick. During this time RIBEIRÃO FC's players had a chance to rest. A hard and well directed shot from Lukáš Modrić led 33 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wágner Alves in the 36th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukáš Modrić in the 39th minute of play. Though ot was a great shot RIBEIRÃO FC's keeper Angelo Ongile was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged.

When Lukáš Modrić got free in front of the goal in the 53rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Julio Vera was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Angelo Ongile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 55th minute of play. Gustavo Gomez Blanco struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIBEIRÃO FC.
