The Intxaurrondo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salvador España should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cordareo Folch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Intxaurrondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Gorbea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute, Nestor Van Den Broek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Intxaurrondo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
