After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Tord Alberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vänersborg SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tord Alberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 44th minute of play forced Vänersborg SC's goalkeeper Stewart Tongs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stewart Tongs. Stewart Tongs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 59thth minute of the game Tord Alberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Vänersborg SC got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bobbo Viking ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tord Alberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Vänersborg SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bobbo Viking in the 64th minute. Stewart Tongs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Stewart Tongs. Vänersborg SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 74th minute, Tord Alberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vänersborg SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. A very good chance for a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Vänersborg SC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Stewart Tongs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Gunnarsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harry Gunnarsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Tord Alberg took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3.
